International STEAM Education (ISE) has developed a series of increasingly complex levels called "Mathcraft Amazing Race", delivered through Mini Melbourne. This virtual interactive city simulates real-world scenarios for students. Mini Melbourne is a 600,000m2 re-creation of Melbourne CBD created by the Minecraft team at Metro Tunnel Project and Department of Education Victoria.
The Mathcraft Amazing Race Series (MARS) is a unique program that combines the principles of mathematics with the fun and excitement of a virtual scavenger hunt. Engaging with students in problem-solving and critical thinking as they navigate through Mini Melbourne's virtual world, solving maths problems and competing against their peers.
The first MARS series provides an opportunity for primary school students in levels 3 and 4. MARS should suit this age group's learning needs and capabilities while providing them with challenging and stimulating maths problems.
MARS can serve as a visual aid for students with learning difficulties, providing an immersive, interactive 3D environment that can help students visualise and understand complex concepts.
ISE provides the teaching team and equipment. We only require a safe space to evenly spread out a class set of laptops and tables in a U shape format with access to a whiteboard.
